Systems
AI strategy and implementation grounded in real workflows and owned outcomes.
Strategy, agentic workflows, evaluation, governance and adoption for leadership teams that need senior capability without a full-time hire.
I founded XO3D, run TomHow and build the systems I advise on. Based in Hertfordshire, UK, I bring operating experience, creative judgement and search discipline to each engagement.
Thomas Howcroft is an independent AI systems and transformation consultant based in Hertfordshire in the UK. He helps leadership teams turn AI experiments into systems a business can trust, covering strategy, agentic workflows, evaluation, governance and adoption. Engagements take three shapes: an AI Opportunity and Risk Diagnostic that maps workflows and produces a prioritised 90-day roadmap, a Governed Agentic Pilot that takes one valuable workflow through scope, implementation, evaluation and handover, and a Fractional AI Systems Lead arrangement of one to three days a week for teams that need a senior AI owner without a full-time hire. He founded XO3D in 2017 and still leads its creative work, has worked hands-on in SEO since 2014 and commercially through Howcroft's Consulting and TomHow since 2017, and writes The Howcroft Index. He builds the systems he advises on, and thirteen case studies state their evidence and limits.

Three disciplines that make useful work operate properly, meet a worthwhile standard and get found.
AI strategy and implementation grounded in real workflows and owned outcomes.
Creative direction taught me that technically correct is only the beginning. The result still needs judgement and clarity.
Search work taught me that useful work also needs evidence, structure and a route to being found.
