Thomas Howcroft
Governed Agentic Pilot

AI automation consultant

An AI automation consultant helps businesses turn a defined, recurring workflow into a working system; my first pilots start from £1,750 as a fixed fee. The Governed Agentic Pilot takes four to eight weeks, with 50 percent to book and 50 percent on working handover. You get one working workflow, acceptance tests, documentation and a usable handover. We agree the outcome, data boundaries, ownership and approval points, then build the smallest useful version and test it against known failures. Human approval is required before anything is sent or published. I work remotely with UK organisations, including alongside internal technical teams. Book a free introductory call or send a brief with the workflow, sponsor and change you need.

Who this is for

01

Teams with one recurring workflow and a clear outcome to work towards.

02

Organisations with a sponsor, relevant data access and a willingness to test before scaling.

03

Internal technical teams that need a defined workstream led through implementation and handover.

02

What you get

01

One working workflow, taken from an agreed scope through implementation and evaluation.

02

Acceptance tests to check the workflow against the agreed criteria and known failures.

03

Documentation, operating rules and a usable handover for the people involved.

03

How we work

01

Scope one workflow

Define the business problem, baseline, sponsor and outcome. Agree data boundaries, ownership, approval points and acceptance criteria.

02

Build and evaluate

Implement the smallest useful workflow and test it against the failures that matter to the business.

03

Hand over the work

Document the operating rules, train the people involved and agree how evidence will be reviewed.

Built systems, with evidence and limits

Before we start

01

What does the automation pilot cover?

The pilot covers one valuable workflow, from scope through implementation, evaluation and a usable handover. You receive a working workflow, acceptance tests and documentation. We define the outcome, data boundaries, ownership and approval points before building, then test against known failures rather than treating a demonstration as proof.

02

How much does a pilot cost, and how long does it take?

The first pilots start from £1,750 as a fixed fee, with 50 percent to book and 50 percent on working handover. Delivery takes four to eight weeks. The scope defines what I own, what you provide, the acceptance criteria and the handover before work begins.

03

Can the workflow send or publish without approval?

No, my current standard requires human approval before anything is sent or published. Drafting and preparation can be automated, with the approval points set during architecture. We also agree data boundaries, tools, ownership and acceptance criteria so the responsibility for external actions stays clear.

04

Can you work with our technical team?

Yes, I can work alongside your internal team or lead a defined workstream. The engagement moves through diagnosis, architecture, build and evaluation, then handover and adoption. Documentation, operating rules, training and an agreed evidence review are part of that method, with responsibilities stated in the scope.
